Jainism does not believe in sun or moon worshipping.
Sun (and moon as well) is NOT god as per jainism. He belongs to 'Devta' (cellestial beings) category. Sub-type is 'Jyotishi Dev', second level in Hirarchy of devas, first is 'Vaimanik" de...vas. Jains do not worship devas. They worship God (Arihant and Sidhha) and Monks (Acharya, Upadhyay and Sadhu). Devas doesn't have capacity to do good or bad to anyone. It all depends on individuals past karmas.
In many religions Sun is considered as God because he is the source of life, light and energy to all living beings. In surya dev there are Akratim Chaityalaya and hence we are allowed to do Namaskar to Surya but only if we know that we are doing this namaskar to Jin Bhagwan.
But this does not mean that Jain Shravak can do a namaskar to surya and think that his daily niyam of dev darshan is fulfilled. He has to go to temple. In the case of Muni however it is allowed to do a darshan of Surya (with abovementioned intention) and take care of his niyam.as running this pnachamkal human can't afford to go out of DHai deep.. so human is not eligible to go there..... Yes, both are vimans. Light of sun and moon is nothing but light emitted by these vimans.Inside vimans, devas stay. As we stay in homes, they stay in Vimans.
All devas inside that viman are called as Jyotishi Devas. Similarly, there are other Jyotishi Devas called as Grahas (Planets), Nakshatra and Tara (Stars).Along with 1 sun and 1 moon, there are 88 Grahas, 28 Nakshtras and 66975 crore x crore taras. These all comes under 1 family of sun and moon.
Like this, there are uncountable families of uncountable suns and moons in midde lok
